This educational programming is in-person only
Education House
This on-site inspection training event is comprised of 2 parts - a peer review in the morning, followed by a rotation training in the afternoon.
This training will be conducted in a home in the Green Bay area that WAHI has obtained for this program. This portion of the educational programming will not be available online.
Part 1: Peer Review - Friday Morning
This peer review is an opportunity for you to evaluate and refine your inspection skills with the aid of a panel of your peers, rather than a person in a black robe and a big “hammer” (a.k.a., gavel). Results are kept completely confidential.
Participants will have two hours to complete their inspection and need to bring their own tools - electrical panels will already be removed, ladders in place, cover off the furnace, etc. to aid with the limited time. Upon completion participants will present their findings and their completed report to a Peer Reviewing Team, as if to a client - the inspectors doing the reviews have inspected the house and identified defects.
Registrants will be emailed a report form prior to the training to complete during the inspection process. Participants may print the form in advance and bring the hard copy to complete onsite or fill out the report on their electronic device. There will be “must find, must report” items the Review Team will be looking for in your report. They will be focusing on the identification of major defects, not issues such as windows or doors sticking. During the inspection process communication between participants will be discouraged - this event is intended to help participants evaluate their personal skill level.
This program is strictly in-person and space is limited, register early to secure your spot! If you have not yet attended this program during past training events, I encourage you to check it out this year - this is a program that has been very well-received each and every time!
The morning session is worth 3 continuing education credits.
Part 2: Inspection Training - Friday afternoon
The afternoon session is a rotation training at the same property. Experienced contractors and trades professionals will be posted throughout the house in numerous locations to provide approximately 50-minute presentations on how to inspect various systems and components. For this program, were planning to cover roofing, electrical, HVAC and on the job safety presented by OSHA. Participants will rotate in small groups from one area/presenter to the next area/presenter.
The afternoon training will take place from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and will be worth 4 continuing education credits. Space is limited; register early to ensure your participation.
